Womenswear Tech Pack Checklist for Your Factory Enquiry
A technical pack helps a clothing manufacturer understand what a brand wants to develop. It does not need to be perfect before the first conversation: a clear reference image and the details you already know can start the discussion. The more precisely the requirements are documented, the easier it is to identify questions before sampling.
1. Identify the style
Provide a style name or reference number, intended garment category and front and back drawings or photographs. Show important details such as neckline, sleeves, closures, pockets, garment length and decoration. Explain which elements are essential and which may be adjusted during development.
2. Describe fit and measurements
Include the size range, base size, measurement points and finished garment measurements if available. Mention the intended fit and target market. If grading rules or a complete size chart are not ready, mark them as pending rather than copying an unrelated chart.
3. List materials and construction
Provide confirmed fabric composition, weight, colour references, lining, trims, labels and packaging requirements where known. Specify any print method, beadwork, embroidery or special hardware. If a material is nominated, custom-woven or imported, say so: supplier minimums can affect the feasible order quantity.
4. Add quantities and timing
State the target quantity per style and colour, intended size breakdown and desired delivery window. Suitable standard styles may start at 50 pieces per style and colour with mixed sizes; specified complex work and special materials can require at least 100 pieces. Availability and final minimums are confirmed after review.
5. Leave room for questions
Identify any information still to be decided. Confirm the sampling scope, cost, revisions and production timing in the quotation before work starts. Sharing incomplete but clearly marked information is more useful than presenting an assumption as a confirmed specification.
